Op-amp Series Setup
This information applies to all 607 Audio op-amps.
STEP 1:
Remove the module/equipment, power it off, and gain access to the op-amp you are looking to replace.
STEP 2:
Using your thumb, index and middle finger grip two sides of the op-amp, ideally the sides that do not contain the connection pins.
STEP 3:
Pull the op-amp straight up being very careful not to twist the unit as you lift. If the module is stuck, a slight amount of rocking can be used to get things started. However, if you twist too far you run the risk of bending the connection pins. Set aside the removed op-amp.
STEP 4:
Holding the replacement amplifier in by the edges with the pins, if possible, set the op-amp pins ontop of the sockets. Do a visual check to ensure alignment. Once you are certain of the alignment, press down on the edges of the pcb with equal pressure on both sides until you feel the pins bottom out in the sockets.
STEP 5:
Power on the unit. Perform the DC Offset adjustment for the new amp, if desired, and you're ready to rock.
IF YOU BEND A PIN:
You can bend the pins back to a straight orientation with your index finger and thumb. If that doesn't work, a pair of jewelers needle nose pliers can be used to straighten the pins.
